How to start promoting products

Egidijus,

1) I’ve done clicking ‘Promote’ link and was given my own affiliate links. How to start promoting products and where to go to advertise with these links and start driving traffic?

2) I have no credit/debit card for now. Can I use meantime my friend’s debit card and get paypal account? Will it be possible to transfer to my own debit card and paypal account, if I can secure later?

Thank you for your questions. I would like to answer them one by one:

1) You can start promoting products with your affiliate link in related forums (in your signatures and posts), messages boards – craigslist.org, etc. You can run pay per click (PPC) advertising campaigns on Google Adwords or Yahoo! search marketing and bid on the keywords to drive traffic to your promoted product’s sales page using affiliate link. You can start promoting products by writing reviews and articles about product you promote with your affiliate link placed, so if a person reads article or review and gets interested, he will click your affiliate link and buy product – you will earn an affiliate commission. There are many ways to drive traffic so all you have to do is promote your affiliate links.

2) In this case ask your friend to open a Paypal account and then use his/her account to send the money to. So your friend would be able to withdraw the money for you. You cannot use your friend’s card data on your personal Paypal account since Paypal does not allow this. The account must belong to the person – cardholder. When you have your own credit or debit card, simply just change the e-mail address of your Paypal’s account on Click2Sell.EU in My Profile –> My Payment Processor page and then all your earnings will be sent to that account.

Why I can’t select Province?

Greetings: In filling out the account details, the State (Province) dropdown menu remains inactive. Why is that?

Thank you for your question regarding the province selection issue. I would like to know where are you from? I guess you are from Canada? If so, then you don’t have to fill in the State (Provice) field on Click2Sell.EU signup form. It’s because this field is only required by US merchants/affiliates to fill in. If you are from another country – you don’t have to select the State.

Affiliate links in HTML format

when you go to promote a product and get the link, why are there so
many for html format?

Hello again Adrienne,

All the formats are technically equal to each other, so it doesn’t
matter which one you choose for promotion.
The only difference there is in images. Different codes produce slightly
different images (you can see them on the left), so you can choose which
one you want to use.

Using affiliate links

I have uploaded code for one of the dog books. but all I see is “Buy,” instead of seeing what it is that the buyer is buying. I’ve tried using the click icon but I have the same complaint, the prospective buyer won’t click on something that doesn’t indicate what he’s buying. What the heck is wrong? How should i be using affiliate links? I needhelp and an explanation. Thanks

As I understand you are trying to promote other merchants’ products using affiliate links.

So in this case you have two ways:

a) use regular affiliate link which will lead people to merchant’s
provided product’s page. Your referred people will be redirected there
and then they will be able to find out the information about the product.

– OR –

b) use direct link to product’s checkout page (the one with “?checkout”
in the end of URL). Then you will be able to redirect your referred
people directly to product’s checkout page (without going to merchant’s
provided sales page).

As an affiliate you get your affiliate links or buttons which you need to put somewhere. Then it is up to you how you make people to go through your link. As you mentioned, it’s not really possible that anyone would click on vague link or button, so you need to put some valuable information about product or something like that near that link.

You can look at product’s “More Info” page in the marketplace if the product has any promotional material uploaded or ask the merchant directly if he/she can give you any promotion material. This should help you to start the promotion. I hope I have explained everything clearly enough. If you have more questions or need further explanations, just let me know!

Promoting products

why aren’t my products that i have chosen to promote not showing up in
my reports? I have clicked promote when i find something i wish to
advertise for, and nothing is happening. am i doing something wrong?

Once you click on “Promote” link in the marketplace, your unique
affiliate links will be shown. You need to write down this link, because
it is not automatically shown in “For Affiliate” section. Your chosen
product will be shown in “For Affiliate” section only after you refer at
least 1 visitor.

Once you refer the first visitor to any of your promoted product, the
product will be shown in your “For Affiliate” section.

What about sales that I generate?

Hello, I have two questions with regard to your service. 1. Does your
affiliate program work with Yahoo! Store? 2. What if I generate a sale
on my own? Your program looks like I have to replace all of my paypal
buttons with yours. so what if I sell something do to my own
advertising. How does your system know NOT to take away a commission?

Let me answer your questions one by one.

1. No, it doesn’t work with Yahoo! Store as it seems that they use their
own transaction processing. Currently Click2Sell needs its merchants to
use Click2Sell buy-now buttons.

2. A commission is taken away only when the purchase was made by a
person who was referred by Click2Sell affiliate. It is detected by
various methods, but you can rest assured that there won’t be faulty
commission takings. There are a lot of merchants who sell products on
their own and there are no commissions taken from them.

I’ve signed up as affiliate. Now I want to place my products in marketplace and recruit affiliates. Should I have to sign up again as merchant and create another Click2Sell account.

No, you don’t need to create another account.
All merchant and affiliate activities can be done in the same account.
So all your business can be done conveniently from just one place.

However, we don’t prohibit having several accounts. So if you feel the
need of having another account (for different currency or for just
separating products), there is no problem in that.

Click2sell Affiliate Promotion

Rather than selecting specific products to promote, can I simply refer
customers to the Click2sell Marketplace & earn commission? If so, what
will be the affiliate set up link for that?

Currently it is not possible to promote products and the marketplace in
such general way.
It is so because the marketplace is designed specifically for
affiliates, not for common buyers. It is not convenient to do shopping
there, so there would be very little sales. It would be just
unprofitable to promote just the marketplace.

However, I want to mention that if you promote some certain products,
but your referred person buys another product (which you don’t promote,
but it is also sold via Click2Sell system), then you will get a
commission nevertheless. So you don’t lose money in such case.

Campaign Statistics

Hi Everyone, I am a new affiliate and I have an ongoing campaign which
I cloaked the link. I am just wondering why my Click2sell statistics
is not showing any clicks/visits on my affiliate link while the
tracking statistics on my link cloaker shows a number of visits already.

Most likely you forgot to change time range in general statistics (the
one you see after logging in).
Please look at the upper right corner of the table. There you will see
various time ranges like “Today” (the default one), “Yesterday”, “Last
30 days” and so on.

There you will see that your statistics have some visitors.
You may also look at “Daily Report” to see how many visitors you
referred on certain days.

how do i promote Click2Sell

i am still new to this ut i will appreciate if u can hlep me. if i
wanted to promote click2sell right, then they give me this html link., where
do i paste it later after i have copied it thanks

There are no technical restrictions about where your referral link should be pasted.
Basically, you just need to ensure that the link is accessible by other people who could go through your link.
Each person who comes through your referral link to Click2Sell and sign ups is credited to your account. So you will earn commissions from your referred person’s activity.

So you may put your referral link to your website/blog, send it to your mailing list (just make sure it is not spamming), use it in your forums signatures and so on.
